“Republicans who spent the last four years railing against nationwide injunctions and forum shopping just went to a Trump judge in Texas to get a nationwide block on Biden’s 100-day deportation pause,” tweeted Slate’s Mark Joseph Stern. Cuccinelli’s agreements were widely ridiculed as a bunch of nonsense after they were initially reported on, but the judge did exactly what he was put in place to do:
A purely bad-faith comparison. We all agree judges have a role to play in ensuring the law is followed. And here, DHS did follow the law.
As Judge Tipton himself acknowledged, he has no experience in immigration law. And the experts who HAVE that experience know he got it wrong. https://t.co/h0XmPnalWe

The very corrupt Paxton is celebrating, of course:
Texas is the FIRST state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden Admin.
AND WE WON.
Within 6 days of Biden’s inauguration, Texas has HALTED his illegal deportation freeze.
*This* was a seditious left-wing insurrection. And my team and I stopped it.

Slow down there, partner. In fact, I’d say the very corrupt Paxton’s lawsuit and this federal judge’s subsequent temporary ruling only increase the urgency for the new Democratic Congress to act now and permanently protect all 11 million undocumented immigrants. The time is now to end this limbo, as today is showing.
